My name is Johanna and I am a fully qualified (QTS) maths teacher, GCSE examiner, teacher trainer and tutor at Attain. I have tutored students successfully for over 15 years, worked as a secondary school maths teacher for eight years and been contracted to mark GCSE mathematics and statistics exams over the past four years.
Over the years, I have developed a vast knowledge of the National Curriculum for maths and of GCSE examination questioning. This means I am able to guide as to the best way to approach exams considering the demands of the mark schemes.
I have worked and continue to work with students across all abilities from those lacking in confidence and with large gaps in their knowledge to those high performing students that would like an extra boost to reach the highest possible grades. My broad experience working with students with various additional educational needs includes working with those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, on various points on the autistic spectrum, with ADHD, anxiety, English as an Additional Language to name a few.
With my warm, friendly and patient manner, my students are very quickly made to feel at ease with my understanding yet motivational approach. My lessons are engaging and full of creativity so you can be confident that they will be well-tailored to suit each student's individual needs as reflected in the testimonials of many previous happy customers.
